If you’re going to add a fireplace to your condo after construction is completed, it makes sense that a free-standing model would be the simplest way to go. By definition, a free-standing electric fireplace requires no construction, and can be added or removed from a room like a piece of furniture. Electric fireplaces are well-suited to this format, as they are truly zero-clearance, and can be built into furniture pieces or set up against any wall. Free-standing electric fireplace styles range from rustic to contemporary. Here are some of the best:

The Best Wall-mounted Electric Fireplaces for Condos
Due to the way in which condo walls are constructed, it’s not possible to insert an electric fireplace into the existing walls. Fortunately, there are lots of options for mounting electric fireplaces on the wall surface.
The Napoleon Stylus series currently includes 2 designs: Cara and Steinfeld. Both can be hung on the wall and plugged into a regular outlet. In a pinch, you could even set them up on a table top or half-wall. Cara features an asymmetrical design in black and white; Steinfeld comes in a classic burnished walnut finish. The Best Shallow Electric Fireplaces for Condos
Sometimes, you just don’t have the space to have a fireplace sticking out into the room. One of the great advantages of electric fireplaces over gas is how much less space they take up compared to a similar style in gas. The slimmest electric fireplaces are linear in style, and come in depths as shallow as 4-inches. Not all of these units may be mounted on a wall, so when we find models that are both slim and may be surface-mounted, we’re pretty excited.
Napoleon Alluravision fireplaces come in both 6-inch and 4.5-inch depths, and may be surface-mounted or flush-mounted.
