Multi-sided electric fireplaces offer the most installation options of any electric fireplace category. They come with glass on the front, as well as both ends. Install a 3-sided electric fireplace with glass exposed on all three sides, for a bay window effect. Block the glass at one end, creating an L-shaped 2-sided electric fireplace. Or block the glass sides at both ends to create a single-sided frameless electric fireplace. Because they tend to be deeper than other electric fireplaces, 2 and 3-sided fires often look more realistic than regular single-sided electric fireplaces. Multi-sided electric fireplaces may also feature larger logs and media kits, adding to their realism.

Two- and three-sided electric fireplaces can be designed to be viewed from just about any angle. Multi-sided electric fireplaces allow you to enjoy the relaxing ambiance of a fireplace from multiple angles or rooms. They feature logs and embers, or crystals, and many have colour-changing LED lighting to enhance the realistic flames. All models can be operated via a convenient remote control, which manipulates the temperature along with the colour, height and speed of the flames. The flames can also be operated independently of the heating system.

Most three-sided electric fireplaces can be installed as an L-shaped corner fireplace or a three-sided bay window option.

Our multi-sided electric fireplaces can typically be plugged directly into a wall socket or hardwired into the electrical system. If the 3-sided electric fireplace is wall-hung, it may be plugged in or hard-wired. If the multi-sided fireplace is built-in to the wall, it must be hard-wired.

Tips for designing with fires that have 2 & 3-sided glass

Multi-sided electric fireplaces come in linear and traditional styles, and in a multitude of sizes. Did you know that you can close off the glass on either the left or right side to make an L-shaped fireplace? All of our 3-sided models have included end panels to allow you to turn a 3-sided fireplace into a 2-sided L-shaped installation.

Design Tip: In most cases, when the glass wraps around both ends of a 3-sided fireplace, the fireplace width becomes the width of the finished wall. Keep this in mind when choosing the fireplace size.
