At Stylish Fireplaces by Huntington Lodge, we’ve always approached the selection of an electric fireplace with an eye toward the design of the entire room. After all, we bring almost 20 years of interior decorating experience to our fireplace business. Jeanne Grier ran a successful Decorating Den Interiors franchise for 18 years. During that period, she won many awards, including 15 Dream Room Awards, Franchise Owner of the Year for Ontario (twice!), and Canada’s Top Salesperson. Jeanne has participated in the Junior League of Toronto Showhouse, featuring Toronto’s finest designers and her work has been featured in a variety of local, national and international media. In addition to writing decorating articles, Jeanne loves to speak about decorating and fireplaces, and has done hundreds of seminars for groups of all sizes. In fine neighbourhoods throughout the GTA, her clients have included busy professionals, business owners, and retirees. For the past several years, she specialized in Move Planning, helping ‘baby boomer’ clients make smooth transitions from one home to another. She also loves to get involved in clients’ renovation projects, before they make any permanent – and costly – mistakes.
Jeanne can’t help but look at your fireplace selection and design within the context of the whole room. She understands the importance of scale, proportion, colour, and texture, in getting the right ‘look’ for your space. With the help of your floorplans, photos and swatches, she can imagine the room as it is, as well as how it could be. She has insider knowledge of furniture, fabrics, window coverings, flooring, and lighting, and can advise you on how to pull it all together. Whether you’re giving an existing brick fireplace a makeover, mounting a contemporary fireplace on the wall, or adding a freestanding furniture mantel to a room, she will know what’s right for your room. (She may even tell you that a fireplace is wrong for your space, but don’t tell Colin!)
